We're on Patreon Now

It's been an amazing couple of years here at the network. We've had the opportunitity to create podcasts about the things that inspire us, and the audience has grown tremendously. More than that, we've met new friends. This podcast network is a tremendous force for good in my life (and in the lives of the others who contribute their time and creativity to our shows).

The notion of how to "make money" off of content is sticky, weird, and uncomfortable. There are two opposing drives: the first being to avoid ever talking about money, and the second being the realization that getting money for doing cool stuff helps us do more cool stuff.

Last year, we ran a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign to do a live episode of Watch Out for Fireballs! at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo. Kickstarter felt like a natural fit for that kind of project, since it was on everyone's mind and was the dominant force in crowd funding.

Nowadays, a scant year later, there are other options that are a much better fit for the kind of thing we do... services that cater to creators who produce a lot of work on a regular basis. The one that has leapt to the forefront is Patreon, and we've decided to launch a campaign there.

Here's what you need to know about backing Duckfeed on Patreon: * You will sign up to donate a certain dollar amount per month of content that we produce. * We have set out some goals and milestones. Chief Among Them: This is how we are funding our next live show at PRGE. * You will get rewards, mostly in the form of access to new content and behind the scenes info. There's some stuff that we're really excited about on there. * That's all. It's incredibly simple, and it makes a huge difference for us.

We put a lot of thought into how we grow the network. We don't come to you with our caps out lightly. We want to be the kind of podcast network that is supported by the listeners, not by the same advertisements that you hear everywhere else. We want a closer relationship with you, our audience, and for our incentive to be to continue producing great content.

We put out nearly 24 hours of podcast content per month. That's an astounding number when you consider that everyone involved in this has day jobs and lives. Take this moment to think about how much that content is worth to you per month, and consider donating.
